She sits on her porch, on the old swing,
twiddling her thumbs, its not a pretty thing. -
She practices dancing with herself, the club is just to loud and noisy.
Dancing for dollars is her passion, making the businessmen want her -
Drifting along the stream of consciousness,
malachite wings unfurled, looking for the answer. -
Subconcious streams of thought, a fantasy, something to strive for.
-
Bloodied hands, hollow heart,
-
There is serenity in silence,
thoughts turn inward, -
I didn't use to think I could do anything right and I couldn't. Then I gave it all over to God, suddenly my whole world changed.
-
Talk of suicide, I pulled her aside,
chatted for hours, an emotional ride. -
Children die every day,
from preventable sickness, -
The depth of your eyes speaks of worlds unexplored,
a love unshared, a heart bound, a shackled soul. -
Her loving light watches over the land, healing natures hurts with a compassionate hand.
-
Bowed beauty, reaching for the sky, hit by lightning, carved with knives.
-
The land swollen,
passion has led to fertility. -
Another day of work is done, perched upon the wall.
-
Fragile wings spread to the suns shining rays,
collecting sun, like an empty heart collects love. -
A precious dove I spied today, freckles and a smile, I asked if she would sit with me, for a little while.
-
Barbed wire and buckshot await over the rise,
our hearts yearning for the free open skies. -
It stands in disrepair, the old grain mill,
used to have wagons waiting, to get their fill. -
Little Angel sitting on your pedestal.
-
Waves crash upon the shore, like the trials beating on our lives.
-
Appearing out of nowhere, beauty personified,
mind, soul and heart, she will give you a ride. -
So you had a bad day, nothing going your way.

Delineated by boundaries not of my making,
fractured mirrored image, a bit out of skew. -
A winters day, the children play,

Staring at a blank page

Lord, I pray that you spare that young girls life,
I know that I have not been the most devout of your followers. -
Inspiration is sometimes hard to find,
a cotton stuffing seems to fill my mind. -
When there is no one left to listen,
a blank page is our solace. -
And the sun sets on an east/west romance.
Neither side allowed to meet, -
Tangled thoughts clarified with words
sometime exuberant at others sad -
The old chapter closes on a well read book,
with hope, faith, we pray for a welcome change. -
Another night at the end of the bar,
same old faces stare at flickering screens. -
Dreams flew through a broken window of opportunity,
ground into sand, mixing with the broken shards. -

The other side of life, so seductive, so sweet,
to drown in indulgence, no matter the cost. -
I glance anon at yonder lass,
so beauteous to these old eyes. -
Walking down the street in the pouring rain,
just to kill time, no one to go home to. -
Sky filled with gold and orange's and yellow,
high silver-blue clouds, slowly dancing by. -
Pregnant with new life, married to the Earth,
we treat her so badly every day. -
Desirous delusions of grandeur
fickle fate tickles the dream -
These gnarled old hands have done much labor,
calloused and scarred, knuckle joints aching. -
He walked down the street, hands in pockets,
cloudless sunny day, whistle on his lips. -
