I was challenged by a contest to write poems on the seven deadly sins. Here they are.

A little slumber; A little rest
A little folding of the hands -
Seems slavery is my reward
Destitute desires has become my pastime. -
Chocolate candy, rich pies
Buttery breads, delectable meats -
Vanity, vanity my soul cried
But I continued to pursue more and more -
I went to the ocean to look at myself
I saw beauty reflecting in the waves -
Out agony fire spews forth consuming
All around me have become cinder and ash -
I saw the brilliance of your glory
So I sought to dishonor your grace
