"I thought this might have been earlier music. The lyrics are all awesome, inspired, exactly what I look for in lyrics, it just seems like you haven't quite moved away from poetry and into songs. This just begs for all-out singing. In some of your songs, such as Birth in the Valley of Liquor, your style of poetic reading really works, and sometimes it's just a lot of words that could have so much more power if the music was there backing it. Music is all about atmosphere, and in some of the songs on the cd it just isn't there, and they go nowhere. First Prize, Gypsy Rouge; these songs both have great atmosphere, and came out great."
