Here are a couple reviews:

"the production values begin to really flex their muscles"

Reviewer: Crowheart

"Crash! Boom! Bam! This cd should be in any serious collectors...er...collection! I was very apprehensive about giving this little gem a spin. As Horus8, the ever shaker of promotional trees in the forever burning forests of marketing surely runs the gamut to make the sale. Despite his unshakeable hype the beauty of it all is the payoff. I would have to say this is one of the freshest collection of eleven songs to whip around my stereo in quite a while. I dont know if its fair to call it spoken word as many pass with lyrical clarity, the words themselves, clever, witty, biting and charming. The surprise is your first hit with the stories, but as you listen to it again, the production values begin to really flex their muscles. Layer after layer, the tracks seamlessly fall into place. A very impressive piece of work, bravo!"

"The anti-hero that becomes a celebrity...."

Reviewer: Zayra Yves

"Gangbox is definitely one of the best contemporary spoken word CD's I have listened to. Jeremi is a voice for the anti-hero, the true Bohemian, the mad, underpriviledged, abandoned, stolen, sexy and surviving. His voice has both venom that will bite to the bone and the unmistakable heart that will catch in the throat. Tracks like Morphine Cherries of August and Dear Mrs. Sexton will expose the loss and emotional damage, but also the recovery told through recollections and ruminations. His poetry reaches across both the mundane and absurd to expand into the mythic and irrational with contridictory profound scope. By using punk, raw edge, spit, heart, and every voice from the street he gladly and purposefully volunteers to enlighten you. He is either your best friend or your worst enemy, but either way, you will notice what he has to say."

"an introduction to the evolution of Horus8"

Reviewer: Jan

"This is a CD I can listen to as background or pay attention and get drawn into. As someone who was first introduced to Horus8 throught the poetry of Jeremi Handrinos, this CD rounds out the words with interesting vocalizations, spoken word, and the addition of the instrumentation. Etheral in parts, trippy, yet oddly calming at times, Gangbox offers listeners an introduction to the evolution of Jeremi and Horus8. Yeah, you've read all the comparisons and some are fitting. But, the voice of Horus8 is a unique culmination of influences and personal experience. It's still in my CD player, give it a whirl in yours."

"Enthralling mix of vocal and musical tracks- a must hear..."

Reviewer: Tyler Hughes

"Two tracks on the CD really stood out to me- Emotionally Unavailable and Before the Sun. Emotionally Unavailable is a simple vocal track that will capture imagination, and your laughs. It goes off on a few humorous tangents, but in my opinion, makes it worth listening to. Before the Sun has some nice guitar work for the intro. The track was very nice to listen to with a relaxing, yet upbeat feel to it. (imagine a cross between Morisson/Cake/Toadies, it that's even possible...) I listened to this one several times back to back. There would be no objection from me to plunk down $15 bucks for an entire album of music like this. My favorite by far. The CD overall was a very satisfying blend of music and vocal styles. This CD would be worth every penny. Enjoy!!"

"Romping out of control, heart-tugging, musical roller coaster. Good.
Really good."

Reviewer: Ah. Lisa, Again.

"Yeah, me again. CD baby offers such great deals when you buy more than one. Just like Amazon.com. Brilliant really. Okay, never mind. Gangbox. First let me tell ya, I totally screwed up yesterday, I reviewed Emotionally Unavailable – and posted it under Gangbox. But it is so not my fault. Horus8 – Jeremi..he writes two songs – Emotionally Unavailable and Gangbox – and puts ‘em on opposite CDs. See what we’re dealing with here people??? Gangbox offers music for all moods. Personally, I think Horus8’s two number one summertime hits live on this CD. Probably re-recorded but man do I feel like climbing into the convertible, cranking the volume to ear piercing and speeding down the highway singing at the top of my lungs when I listen to I wish I was like Elvis and Before the Sun. Rompy - Poppy star – Horus8-style. We’re talking whistling – choruses of plenty of “baby’s” – seriously – I actually dance to these two. (shhhh not sure he’d like me revealing that). But not to be labeled one dimensional- there is also dark, driving, sad, and psychedelic housed in this tome of Horus8. Not for the faint of heart – but definitely for the intelligent listener – Morphine Cherries of August and Emotionally Unavailable kick you in the gut and you are happier for it. That takes some talent. Role Play is a movie played out in your ears –paced from slow to full throttle - spoken word, sound affects, singing, and a kick ass groove. I’d like to continue to review because I do have stuff to say about Recess, Jesus Rides the Comet and Little Johnnies Jihad but you make me keep it short. Yeah, make the mistake that you think you are buying one CD and not the other – take advantage of the CDbaby offers – pull the trigger. And may I suggest, headphones really add to listening pleasure. And don’t forget, someday, when they ask how you knew? Remember me and throw me a bone."
