You wavelets of the white foam crests
Rejoice and spread your pearls of light -
-
Her waxing and her waning gave to men
The measurement of seasons, time and tides -
They planted seeds and worked the fields,
Reapted the crops and swept the leaves -
In those, the earliest of mortal years
We knew no single God to curb our fears. -
But as I skimmed the surface of the moon
A second silver crescent climbed in sight -
From before the earth began and galaxies melted
my soul awakens and journeys forth -
my questing heart
lifts with the moon rise -
We mortals deem beyond the Earth unkind
And still dispute our place in cosmic mind. -
How he was changed from Lucifer to snake
Remains a quest each thoughtful soul must make. -
She is a most sacred planet
For she has the gift of Life
