Here is what the critics are saying

"street poet is fuel for the soul"

Reviewer: zayra yves

Every now and again a street poet comes along to open the doors of sleeping minds and wake us up with a modern smack in the face. This is what Jeremi performs in his tension filled paradoxical shot into the marrow of societies limp mediocrity. There is no mistaken identity in this CD of the "emotionally unavailable" modern male, as horus8 personifies the ultimate apocalyse of youth. He is homegrown right off the plantations of "fuck off man" and shows us what a "saleman" of life's dark side is all about when it is given to us straight in the light. I look forward to the rest of his piss and vinegar because it is full of raw truth born from eating cement and listening to heaven through the cracks of hell."

"even more pleased that the edge was still there"

Reviewer: bill davidson

"I like this cd because, like the first, Junk Jazz" there is that raw Lou Reed, Velvet Underground sound.... and I could almost here some Stooges in there... Well this rawness carried into this cd, however, in a cleaner way... And not over polished, just cleaner... Bravo for having the guts to be different..."

"Don't leave this site without buying this Music!"

Reviewer: Dave Adam

"Anyone who likes to have music playing while working should get this CD. The talented musicians take you on a smooth voyage to the places of listening pleasure you have only felt in dreams. The audio quality is first-rate and worthy of the finest collections. But this CD is far more than just back ground listening, the music is clean and real, and flavored with a "DOORS" influence. Collect this Band!"

"Interesting and very talented....."

Reviewer: Don Baird

"This is really well done. So many upcoming artists produce less than decent quality cds with songs that have almost zero appeal. Well, your work is very fine indeed.... it's original and well produced. You should do really well with this. It has such a low key feel to it yet the messages are profound. Has a sixties feel to it yet explicitly contemporary. Amazing balance. I wish you the best of luck with your music.... though I think your talent will over shadow any need for luck and you'll do real well. Don
Romping out of control, heart-tugging, musical roller coaster. Good.
Really good"

"Emotionally Unavailable was a brave new world for me to explore. Yeah, yeah, let’s just get all the Morrison/Reed/Buckley stuff out of the way. Influences, all artists have them or else they probably wouldn’t be artists. But originals don’t just copy – and Horus8 or Jeremi Handrinos, doesn’t. Nah, it isn’t perfect - some of this is early and raw. What’s important is that listeners get the opportunity to be part of the birth of this potentially seminal music creature that is Horus8. How would I describe it? Well, mercury comes to mind. It’s slippery, pretty, and poisonous and can be used to measure pressure, temperature and create pesticides and yes, you want to hold on to it despite knowing the danger. A few of my favorite tracks and why: Growl – A call to arms if you will to join the pack of Horus8. And he does a job of making it a religious experience. It’s a warlock potion full and layered with moody beats, even a Latin-Santana-esque like picking layered with laughing witches and his voice – rich – singing – spoken sometimes – floating over the smoking caldron. Joe Likes Dynamite – A bluesy, stripped, kind of character this Joe – consulting the Pope and drinking Mountain Dew. Cool. Invisible – Haunting, titillating, chilly and dangerously delicious. Overcast was the climate…uncolored was the day……the single rose spins nauseously….her face tawny a repeated chorus in a spoken/sung mantra that spins a web around that you want to push away but can’t. Homegrown – This baby crosses time – a 60’s kind of psychedelic funky groove – makes me think of burning incense and hippies – yet also very modern with the clipped chorus and smart rant of lyrics. There are others I like – and I found the more I listened – the more I was drawn into the way Jeremi uses a variety of spare moody music to help tell his layered deep stories. So stop listening for free – buy it."
