I enjoy witting and reading poetry but I unfortunately never really have time to do so, but I like to listen to live poetry shows, exodus poets, a group of poets who perform in Gaborone Botswana are a favorite. I especially love any kind of verse I collect songs with great inspiring verse i.e.
I wanna love you in this age of miracles
Oh I believe dreams can come true
You make me feel real love is possible
My love maybe the miracle is you
And I’d give up forever to touch you
Coz I know that you feel me so much
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be
And I don’t wanna go home right now
And when all I can taste is this moment
When all I can breathe is your life
And when sooner or later it’s over
I just don’t wanna miss you tonight
And I don’t want the world to see me
Coz I don’t think that they’d understand
And when everything’s made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
The weakness in me
Why do you come here
When you know I’ve got troubles enough
Why do you come here?
when you know I can’t answer the phone
you make me lie
when I don’t want to
make me someone else
when I wanna be me
make me stay
when I should not
are you so strong
or is the weakness in me
why do you come here
and pretend to be just passing by
I mean to see you
I mean to hold you
Honey you remember you told me that you love me baby
You said you’d be coming back this way again
Long ago I fell in love with you before the second show
And you’re so sweet and brave
But you’re not really here
It’s just the radio
Loneliness is so sad baby
And I can’t find my way to be with you again
And what to say to make you come again
Come back to me again
I can feel the magic floating in the air
Being with you gets me that way
I can feel your breath
There’s nothing left to prove
Caught up in the touch
The slow and steady breathe
Baby isn’t that the way that love’s supposed to be
In a way I know that my heart is breaking up
As all the walls come tumbling down
Closer than I’ve ever been.
I must confess that I am not much of a music fan, but when it comes to verse I just go crazy, mostly though I never really know the singers or the names of the songs.
I’m especially inspired by Zen Koans. A few of which I’ve quoted here (o.k. not just a few really) I love exploring different types of philosophy such as Taoism, Sufism, Buddhism, and Confucianism, I always find I learn something at the very least one thing than can empower me.
Truly I don’t discriminate religions or philosophies, some are more dear to me , some are just a learning curve some I down right put in the recycle bin, but I am tolerant of other ideas and ways of thinking-I have no problem with peoples belief systems.
“Human are born learning, the moment we stop learning we begin to die” this is a favorite of mine because it speaks for itself about a philosophy I believe in
The shagreen leather is shrinking
“There is no cold place in a boiling cauldron.
Only the one who can stand on a whirlwind in the emptiness will be able to dance and laugh.
All the rest will be dying one by one. They have already started. The shagreen leather is shrinking.”
From The Zen Tradition
Cauldron – large metal cooking pot for open fire cooking, a situation characterized by instability & strong emotions
“When the waves are choppy it is difficult for the moon to appear,
Though the room is wide, the lamp can fill it with light,
I extort you to clear your mind vessel
Don’t spill the sweet dew sauce”
From The Zen Tradition
“The snake flees from the man; the man flees from the snake,
and the path remains empty. Thus does enmity waste opportunity?”
Translation of an Oromo tribe (Ethiopia / Kenya) proverb
“I believe in reconciliation of all tribes, races, sexes and nations.’
“For only when one is empty can one hope to reach out further, only when one is not currently experiencing anything can one hope to experience something different? Only when one is not worrying about this and the other can there be receptiveness to what is inside one…to say you have divinity inside of you, you are capable of being eternally good, eternally loving, and eternally happy.

“if there is one regret I will have in life, it is that I did not read enough I know this because every moment spent sleeping, eating, working or any other activity is one moment less reading.
Life however is a book, and I have had to learn to read from the book of life.”
“why should I seek immortality, when eternity is here and now”, by likgaribe
“Since all men posses the unborn Buddha heart from their birth, you are not now seeking for the first time to follow it. If you perform your chores with all your might, you are practicing the unborn heart.”
“What is this talk that goes beyond Buddha’s and patriarchs?”
“I drank up the Buddha’s and patriarchs – all the mountains and rivers without my mouth”
“After I break through a solid gate clear wind blows from time immemorial”
“it is like the water buffalos passing through a window lattice,
Its head, horns, and four hooves have all passed through,
Why can’t its tail pass through?”
“Is there a truth that has not been preached to men?
This is not mind, this is not Buddha, this is not a thing”
“Where are you going?
To where there is no change
How can you go where there is no change?
My going is no change”
“I heard about the cow with no nostrils
and suddenly the universe is my home
Yonam mountain lies flat under the road,
A farmer at the end of his work is singing”
The real within the apparent
“A sleepy eyed grandma
Encounters herself in an old mirror
Clearly she sees a face,
But it doesn’t resemble hers at all
Too bad, with a muddled head
She tries to recognize her reflection”
The apparent within the real
“in the third watch of the night
Before the moon appears,
No wonder when we meet
There is no recognition!
Still cherished in my heart
is the beauty of earlier days”
The coming from within the real
“within nothingness there is a path
Leading away from the dusts of the world.
Even if you observe the taboo
Of the present emperor’s name
You will surpass that eloquent one of yore
Who silenced every tongue”
“The body is the Bodhi (enlightenment) tree
The mind is like a clear mirror
At all times we must wipe it clean
And must not let the dust collect”
“bhodi originally has no tree
The mirror also has no stand
Bhudha nature is always clean and pure
Where can dust alight”

We didn’t take a walk here,
We were not at the present... -
Always the non sound of things we never seem to hear;
But that are always with us… -
Fallen into the dark abyss
When you said you loved me -
It is a tree in bloom when apples rust and iron railings blossom under a black moon.
