I live in South Wales (Swansea)quite near to the Rhondda Valley and am very proud to be a part of the wonderful Welsh culture.
I am also very proud to say that I am the adoptive parent of a very talented young poet on this site...please visit her page and support her...she is thirteen years old...her work displays a maturity beyond those years and also makes her shine for the lovely heart she has..Wildchild310 attracted my attention some time ago and I promise she will attract yours too...here is a link to her home page,

awwww look what she wrote for me!!
Loving and Lovable
Each day special because she has lived in it
Amazing writer
Never-ending generosity
Never lets life slip by too fast
Energetic and silly (which is a good thing)
Wonderful to me and so many others
Always there for a kind word
Let's the world know who she is by her poetic talent
Enchants the poetic world
Special to me
thankyou wildchild..I shall treasure this one...xxxx

I had to add this to my page because it was such a sweet gesture from samplette and I love her to bits and will always treasure this acrosstic she did for me,
loving and kind
endearingly talented
always sharing her heart
never saying a harmful word
nothing can take her faith
each day a bless-ed gift
woman with great creativity
all her love can be heard
leanne is such a blessing
every single day
sharing her gift, she's special in every way

Oneslowtyper (John) I adore him! if you get a chance go read his stuff he's very good!...he wrote this little gem for me and i love it!
Let's put away the "loveable" crap
Everyone knows THIS girl can write
And yes, she has given other poets a SLAP
Nearly knocking me silly one night
No, I'm kidding, it's only a jest
Everyone loves her personality and pen
We all have different poets we say we like best
And so many here call you their friend
Listening and learning from all of your tales
Each of us with our own view
Stunned by the poems that come out of Wales

The person I admire most is Mother Theresa of Calcutta, for her faith love and hope, her inspiration to others and most of all her endless compassion and endurance in helping the helpless...although I am not overtly religious...my God dwells inside me and I am at peace with him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I live with my cat....it's her house..I am a mere lodger who conveniently knows how to open cans and clean litter trays...when she is in the right mood she rewards me with lashings of sloppy love.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A quote that says it all for me.....A million words won't bring you back, I know because I tried...neither will a million tears, I know because I cried.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had intended to list all my favourite poets and friends here...but they have become too numerous and I'm sure you will find them all yourself eventually!!
The Woman That Is Me.
I have walked the path of heartache
I have drowned in pools of sorrow
I have stood against the winds of pain
As they threatened my tomorrows,
I have climbed the ladder of success
I have reached it's top most rung
I have papered the walls of my office
With the awards that I have hung
But never once have I forgotten
Those past days long before
When to put shoe's on my kid's feet
I have gone out scrubbing floors.
Be it bravado or stupidity
I have tackled men of six foot three
If they threaten those I love
They get a roasting off of me,
I may have to stand on my tiptoe's
To get my point across
But believe me when I'm finished
They know who is the boss.
I have nursed the sick to health again
I have learned and I have taught
I have comforted and listened
I have calmed and I have fought
I have beaten cancer more than once
I have known abuse and sorrow
But still I would return
And do it all again tomorrow
For this is where my strength lies
This is the woman I became
And without the ups and downs of life
Well, I just wouldn't be the same.
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
--Samuel Adams
I dedicate my poetry to everyone I know and love.....my family who's devotion and support through difficult and worrying times has been as solid as a rock and has given me the courage and the strength to fight on against all odds...my friends who have been there for me through thick and thin good and bad...and for all the people I know and love on Allpoetry and on line....the encouraging words of praise and love I have recieved are worth perhaps far more than you will ever know.....I treasure you all xxx
Peace and love....leanne xxxx
“They” were coming. I wasn’t sure who “they” were, only that I was terrified of them. Running didn’t help; if my speed increased so did the length of the shadows behind, my legs felt weak as though filled with jelly and glue.2 lines, 3 comments, May 4, 2007
