My real name is Maria. i live alone with my cat speckles in England, Newcastle-upon-Tyne

I don't have a specific style of poetry it flows how it flows, i am a free spirit, sometimes it is iambic sometimes its not, sometimes it rhymes sometimes it does'nt. I don't write on any one specific topic i write all sorts. I'm not a proffessional writer but i do have a lot of life experience.I have partaken in some workshops and had two poems published by United Press one as a result of a competition, although i did not win i was in their final selection, they then asked me write another for their collection.

As well as poetry i dabble in song writing and singing. I usually sing in karaoke but have just recently joined an opera company as chorus line (sort of), we also have to act.

I'm not working at present owing to health problems, though i have done many jobs from care work, shop work, factory work, cleaning toilets and being a combat medic in the territorial army.

Feel free to give fair criticism, i don't mind educated criticism providing they respect me as a human being ie no snobbery will be entertained. I enjoy learning but do not like being insulted. I am educated in many other ways just not in English literature.

I live and write for my time now, not for the past poets or olde english, though i do respect that in their day as well as in modern education they are and were important people. I also believe in the old days poetry was a high class persons art, not many like me would even of had a chance too show our worth then. We live in a free world where we are all entitled to write no matter if we are financially rich or not.
