I'm a widow and have been since 2003 when I lost my beloved husband Peter. I live in the North East of England on the coast. I'm a retired schoolteacher with three grown-up sons and eight grandchildren.
I live alone which can be very lonely indeed but I do have a very special little cat called Bren who is 18 months old and was given to me as a surprise gift from my very closest and dearest friend Jack. I can't imagine life at home without her and love her dearly. She is so loving yet so very feisty also.
Jack writes wonderful books, sings like an angel, and writes his own lyrics and the music to accompany them. He also plays various instruments too.
The books I love to read most of all are fantasy, historical fiction, animal fiction, autobiographies and Jack's crime novels.
I love to write and especially write poetry.
Music plays a large part in my life too. My favourite artists are Chris Rea, Genesis, Chris de Burgh, Don Williams, Vince Gill and of course Jack Claridge my best friend and all time favourite.
My favourite colour is blue
My favourite foods are all manner of sweet things especially chocolate
God make me brave for life
Oh, braver than this!
Let me straighten after pain
As a tree straightens after rain
Shining and lovely once again
God make me brave for life
Much braver than this
As the blown grass lifts, let me rise
From sorrow, with quiet eyes
Knowing your way is wise
God make me brave, life brings
Such blinding things
Help me to keep my sight
That out of dark will come the light.
