My name is Caitlyn, Cati, Cate, Cat, whatever you choose. I started writing poetry my sophomore year of poetry as a stress relieving mechanism. My friend and I were both in similar situations, in that we were both in love with people who didn't want us back. This happens to many people. But the kicker was that, 6 months prior, the guy i had fallen for had told me he was interested in me, but it took me 6 months to see him in that light. By that time, he had moved on. This experience has made me think about every consequent interest or relationship differently. My poetry has been influenced not only by this but by a bought of depression brought on by a very oppressive "friend" that i was too weak to emancipate myself from until just recently. I have grown to be a much happier and much less stressed person through the writing of poetry. This site has revolutionized that for me!
