The things that keep me going?
friends, family, God, and dogs
Yes, I said dogs.
I raise Guide Dogs for the Blind ( www.guidedogs.com ) and I love it! My first 5 puppies that I raised are all grown up and graduated, working as Guides all over the country. I'm currently raising my 6th pup, a black lab named Faulkner, who will be going to school in the not-too-distant future. The program gives me something to focus on and keep up with which is a very important thing in my life.
I've had a 4th surgery to fix some neurological problems that I was having, but it looks like I'll finally be able to go back to school this coming semester!! Until then, I sit around in a neck brace.
With all this free time...what is a girl to do?
While I miss the hustle and bustle of my old life, I'm feeling pretty content with life as it is. Although, I do continue to strive for life as it should be. (Thanks to The Man of LaMancha.)
