Hi!! My name is Kirsty and I am 24

I have been writing poems as a passtime all of my life and poetry has been my form of therapy through any hard times. It's a way to release my emotions and express myself and understand the emotions i am feeling.

Alot of my poems reflect what a hectic life I've had - kicked out at 15, dad killed at 16, alcoholic and drug abusing step dad and step mum, and a few abusive relationships, my poems all reflect this. But hopefully they all also reflect that despite all this I've learnt from the hard times in life and I'm happy and in a good place now. I dont dwell on the past, only in a reflective positive way. and I'm glad for all of my experiences.

I like travelling around alot and meeting new people from all walks of life. Every little thing and every person inspires me to write a poem. I've been homeless myself and had issues with drink and drugs, and have got alot friends that unfortunatly are homeless and also have or have had issues with drugs and drink, so some poems also touch on this. On the otherhand I live most summers in newquay, cornwall, which is a really inspiring place to be and definatly brings out my creative side.
