(I am not writing this to be racist, I hope I dont offend anyone)
I am I black person and I once dated a white person. He was everything that I thought that I wanted. I was ready to take our relationship to the next level and go and meet the parents. His parents were racist. I want to believe that he knew but he never said anything.
I went into the house with a huge smile on my face,I heard her from the kitchen saying who is this lucky young lady. When she saw my face her face was completely drained of any color. Soon afer I walked in I streched my hand out to shake his mother's hand. She looked at him and said"Get this trash out of my house." I looked at him as if for a sense of security, protection and a cushion to soften the hard blow, but he only knodded toward the door. As I saw my way out tears filled my eyes and fell like precipatation from the skies above. I had never been hurt so badly in my life.
I called him days after and he wouldnt reuturn my phone calls. I finally gathered enough courage to walk up to him and ask him why. He said that his parents wouldnt tolerate it and that we couldnt speak to each other. I asked him if he really loved me and he said no. I could see it in his eyes that he were lying. His eyes began to glow as tears gathered around his beautiful green eyes.
I told myself that I would never date another person outside of my race. Then, I thought about it. For What??? Love doesnt discriminate against no one. Love isnt red, blue, black or white. Love is a passion and a strong emotion that can either make or break you. It can build you up or break you down. Most people cast love in vain because a previous love failed. I want to be the first to say that that, can be the biggest mistake of YOUR LIFE. If I would have given up on love I would have never found my boyfriend today. And my life would be totally different.
What do you think of differnent race relationships? Have you ever dated someone outside of your race? Have you ever been discriminated against?

Always Be True to Yourself! :-D
Im sorry, Its hard to hear things like that from people you dont know so I could only imagine how you feel about your parents acting that way. What ever you do, hold on to your boyfriend and hold him for as long as you can. Because at the end of the day, your parents arent kissing you and telling you all the things that make you feel special the way that your boyfriend may do. Only with time will we know what our future holds for us, but I hope for the best and always follow your heart, because in most situations you are the one that has to live with them for the rest of your life. Your parents dont have to look at your face first thing in the morning....You do. So choose your decisions carefully!!!!! Thanks for commenting!

I've been discriminated, not by a girl I used to date, but by my own family. I come from a family where my mom was Puerto Rican, and my dad is North American. My mom died when I was 9. To my mother's family, my brother and I have always been the little "gringos", and we really don't have much contact with most of them, just an aunt which is a great and loving person. I've lived in Puerto Rico since I was 2, and I consider myself a Puerto Rican.
Anyway, I think that love has no color. Love should be given and experienced freely, regardless of the shade of the skin. Because, when we come to think, we are all the same color (brown), just different shades- some lighter, some darker. There's no such thing as black, or white, or yellow. And races? Just one- human -as far as I'm concerned.
So, if that guy was coward enough as to reject you, because his parents' minds (and his own) were narrowed by stupid social barriers and discrimination, he was just one big asshole. -

Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Im sorry about your mind. Ive always been raised to put family first and I not going to even pretend that I know what youre going through. Sometimes I wish that I could just change things. If I could I would make things better for you.
Your comment was very well written, love should be given and experienced freely. People can miss out on great people all because theyre more concerned about the color of someones skin. Your aunt must be a very remarkable person. Stay strong and always keep your head up. I want to tell you that things will get better but I dont know if I can. Just know that all things happen for a reason.
He really did hurt me, but you know what they say, What goes around comes around. Thanks again for the comment. I love your face(the cartoon image that pops up beside your screen name when you send a comment!!) Maybe we can keep in touch if you dont mind!!

If you have a girlfriend/boyfriend and you know that you arent treating them as good as you know you could STOP DOING WHAT EVER IT IS THAT YOURE DOING WRONG. You never know what you have until its gone. Dont mistreat someone who would do anything for you. If they treat you right return the favor. Because just as s

Is it the way his/her hair whips upon his/her face as the wind flows through all deminsions of it that makes you think that they are the one you want to spend the rest of youre life with? Why are things the way that they are. Are you entitled to question it or are we suppose to except the fact that things are the way they are for a reason. I want to believe that we as a people , as a nation are a lost people. We seek knowledge and understanding. Why do animals and people speak different languages. S
