My Life, Times Tables, and Twilight

Things I learned recently

·         Lifehouse songs make great inspiration for novel writing

·         Times Tables lead to gadget confiscation

·         Twilight is destroying my hopes for TUV

***

We had an intense family-bonding moment at home last night. Apparently, Kid Brother (of the break-dancing type) mysteriously erased all the times tables from his otherwise sharp memory.

Mom: What is six times seven?

Kid Brother: *flips cushion in air* Huh?

Mom: What is six times seven?

Kid Brother: *drops cushion on Older Brother* Um, repeat that.

Mom: What is six times seven?

Kid Brother: *is smacked by Older Brother* Uhh . . . I didn't hear the question.

Mom: . . .

Mom:

Everyone else:

Needless to say, much yelling ensued and my mom put me in charge of making said Kid Brother learn his tables. -___-

After several failed attempts, Kid Brother left the room in some emo-funk.

Mom: *to Older Brother* Go get him back.

Older Brother: -___- Whatever. *goes to stairway railing and leans over*

Kid Sister: I think he's sulking at the foot of the stairs.

Older Brother: Hey, hey, you! *to Kid Brother* Stop being emo over something small. What will you do when people bully you in highschool?  Cry??

Kid Sister: He is really comforting.

Me:

Kid Brother: *emits Banshee scream* Yes.

Older Brother: He said yes?? Wuss! Stop being a faggot!

Me & Kid Sister: o___o

Older Brother: I won't let you play PS3 if you don't come up here!

Kid Brother: You never do!

Older Brother: No Little Big Planet. You're not allowed on the Wii either!

Kid Brother: *pouts* Whatever.

Older Brother: No PC or PS2! Or TV.

Kid Brother: *ignores*

Older Brother: *runs out of devices* . . .Fine, go be Junior Emo.

More of the same followed. Too idiotic to type out.

YES, I finally found one editor for the bloody novel. One of my BFFs from highschool is editing/reviewing it while she visits family in Rochester. She's a bit like the Simon Cowell of the lit world, very tough critic.

Of course, she despises Twilight.

Speaking of Twilight . . . I think a rant on my view is long overdue. A little thing called the 12 year old girl Theory.

Know what, I'm actually really scared when I consider publishing TUV. Twilight is pretty much in the same genre, 'cept that TUV is not limited to just "vampire romance". And Twilight is easily reaching Most Loathed Literature in the world. o__o I don't really wanna head that way. It would crush me ‘cause TUV was a brute to write.

Also, from what I know, there’s a Best Novel contest thingy on SW. Run by Faolan, and he asked me if he could put TUV in the running. I’m keeping an eye out for any other budding novels on here to suggest to him.

On a vainer note, I finally bought a skirt. O.o My brothers gave me these weird looks, and Older Brother, when forced into a compliment by my very proud mom, gave a “Yes, very nice”. It’s long, layered and black. Very ruffled and swishy. *tomboy half of mind gags*.

Kid Brother has raccoon circles around his eyes from his PSP. Must comment on his Goth look. Possibly try it out, although I’ll substitute the PSP for eye shadow.

I can’t think of anything else to blab about except this.

Read Uncyclopedia’s entry on Twilight. Coarse language warning.

out,

- HT

    Roflmao!
Well, that's how older siblings usually act.
Your brother's really brave to curse in front of your mother.. o.o

    Twilight; blehh.
Nowadays, anything vampire-related is officially Twilight-mania. Maybe you should wait a while before you can publish your series into book form.

Twilight's destroying the name of vampire romance fiction. What can I say?
PS - Your family's hilarious - love the little anecdotes!
