Cutters: For this purpose, Genuine cutters will be G-Cutters and the dregs of adolescence will be A-Cutters.
Note - both types of cutters do harm themselves.

Do all cutters act like the world must stop for their problems?
No! i hear you say, not at all...
In fact, you'd be right: G-cutters do not think this. A-cutters, despite the arguments they use to convince themselves that they don't, in fact do think the world revolves around them.

Then why do A-cutters make it such a big deal when they meet someone or write something (e.g. on AP)?
'I'm a cutter...yeah, i've been involved in cutting...'

 

In fact, the only time this answer should ever be given (if at all), is when someone says:
'whats that on your arm? do you cut yourself?'

But G-cutters who cut for an actual reason - and i'm not going to put that reason on here because it is the only legitimate reason why anyone would cut, and I dont want to give all you phonies out there the opportunity to replace your attention seeking arguments with a reasonable explanation - would try and hide it, or would divert the attention away even here. They know that it is a personal, almost ritual act that one commits for unsaid reason above, and the last thing they want is people to give them a lecture or grill them about it.

Most of, if not all the people I know or have heard of to be cutters, are pure, bored, time-wasting attention seekers:

You wear your sleeves low or display in some way your cuts, and if you don't then you mention it in a coversation or make it clear that you do cut, pretty much to anyone that will give you sympathy or listen.
But here is the best part: when someone actually offers to listen, you push them away!!

'I can't trust you, i dont even know you properly'
...sure, but you had the trust to tell me that you do cut!

 

I mean, for crying out loud! If you didnt know me or trust me, why reveal something that is supposed to be so personal?!

 

Cutting; what a poor name for a private act hijacked by people who are looking to make a community out of it...almost wanting to be outcasts.

I refuse to disclose whether I used to be or am a cutter, for the reasons stated above, and its not the point....if i am, i wouldnt shout about it and i wouldnt do it to get attention.
If i did it for anything other than the unsaid reason above, i.e. i wanted to attention-seek, i would use my head and write in a journal and make sure i left it lying around for my parents or teachers to see; or i would call the social services/police...thats a sure fire way to get attention.

And if you just want a community or want somewhere to belong, join a club...and quit taking Linkin Park lyrics so literally!

I may lose friends over this, and quite frankly unless you can come up with a good counter argument that doesnt impliedly conclude in a badly worded way that it is after all an attention seeking tool, then we're both better off.

And what's more, if you are a cutter that responds to this in the way just described, i have no doubt that you are an A-cutter. G-cutters would know better than to argue with the truth; in fact, I expect commendation.
