Death- the final frontier.

Death really is the final frontier- we don't talk about it that much, and we ought to, more. We don't come into this world complaining, so why do we worry so much about leaving it? After all, it's only the body that leaves...soul stays on, of course. (Or I'd like to believe that anyway.)

Lately, I've been reading a book called "Tuesdays with Morrie", by Mitch Albom. It's the first non-fiction book I've ever read that I've been totally immersed in from start to finish. Not going into too much detail, because I'd like you to discover it for yourself, "Tuesdays with Morrie" tells the story of a guy who met up with his old college tutor 15 years after he left college. Mitch told Morrie that he'd keep in contact when he left, and never did- during those fifteen years he amassed a relative fortune, and worked like a dog. It was only when he was flicking through TV channels late one night that he caught his old college tutor's name mentioned on NightLine. The two men reconnected, and I'll leave you to discover the rest. Safe to say it'll probably be a profoundly affecting book. It certainly has been for me. Morrie's final words of wisdom: "Death ends a life, not a relationship." have brought comfort to me in the days leading up to the second anniversary of a dear friend's passing.
