1st- if you use Pull ups, stop it. If you dont, never use 'em.. use regular underwear and rubber sheets in his bed lol. WE never got pull ups when we were potty-trainees, why should they? Pull ups are really just glorified diapers IMO.1
2nd- its not the end of the world if they pee their pants.. actually, usually they HATE it when they get wet so if they pee their pants, it actually HELPS the matter at first2
3rd- Limit liquids about an hour or so before bedtime, and ALWAYS make him SIT on the potty before bed till he pees.3
4th- Standing up (for boys) can come later because lets just get the concept of peeing and pooping in the potty across first... standing up for peeing and sitting for pooping is kind of a hard thing to teach the newbie one thing at a time so I think that sitting to start is best (just my opinion, use it or dont, its up to you )4
5th- if you want to teach it to him to stand for pee right away... cheerios and confetti are excellent pee-targets lol.5
6th- PRAISE PRAISE PRAISE the successes!! Make it a huge deal every time he goes in the potty. Seriously!! The bigger deal you make of it, the better!! Make it seem as if he's just won a nobel prize or something like that hahaha.6
7th- If he doesnt make it, NEVER shame him.. or he'll just hide it from you. Always tell him "Awww, its okay buddy, better luck next time" . Let him know that its okay, and that accidents happen.7
8th- HAVE FUN with it haha.. Make it a game!! Make it fun!! Make him WANT to use the potty!! Even the journey TO the potty can be a game!! "AHH!!! I HAVE TO PEE!!! Lets race!! 1st one to use the potty gets a gummy bear!!! Ready set GO!!!" and actually run and get excited!!8

If your kid hasn't watched Finding Nemo yet, have him watch it. Then talk all about the movie, and all the different favorite parts. Right around the time you think he has to go to the bathroom, ask if he remembers how "all drains lead to the sea" (it's a big theme in the movie). Then explain that when he goes poop, it gets flushed out into the ocean, and it turns into fish food. That's what Dory and Nemo eat, and if he doesn't go, then they'll get really hungry. Hopefully your son's compassion will override his hesitation to learn to go on the toilet.11

Lol I think I had it easy when I potty trained my cousins

They were both around the same age so it was two birds with one stone because they liked to mimick each other. It was pretty easy anyways because they got the concept. Only a few wet panties =] -
The last paragraph is a good one. Ha. You should have heard some of the things we dealt with teaching Tiff how to go potty. Haha.

I went in Sunday night. Turns out my kidney infection's back. The doctor decided that he was going to induce me the next morning so we can get me healthy again. Induction began at 10 Monday morning. He put me on the Pitocin drip. Labor with Pitocin started out easy for the first hour then things started to get kind
