Poetry's Pathways

Poetic expression is constrained by the language, history and culture from which it springs, but it is not confined by these. Poetry has traditions, but every inspiration is as unique as each human soul. Everyone experiences life as no one else does, or has, or ever will again. Each poet’s creativity is inspired through that unique and on-going experience. Poetry is as diverse as our humanity and as changeable as the times of our lives.1

Through the world of time and in our very beings there are impressions which trace the passing of human experience. We cross or follow or merely imagine these paths as we wander through life. My poetry is inspired by trails I have followed with others and possibilities of paths I have tried to trace for myself toward whatever lies ahead. I hope readers will be intrigued by sights and conceptions that have fascinated me along the way. If the poetry is compelling, thought-provoking and enjoyable to you, I would be pleased to have you wander a little way with me. Likewise, as I cross your path I hope to find myself intrigued by the trails you have followed. Maybe in walking and talking with each other we will come upon prospects and perspectives we might not otherwise imagine. Who knows what paths we may find or trace from here?

Inspiration accures from strong emotions one percieves with the five senses, but I `d say with the ten senses really

In this I am refering to ingenius poetry not just pretty words put together
To me poetry is the magic of the moment, when it all takes place

Thank you for adding your thoughts to this! I think each philosophy of poetry contributes to our understanding and appreciation of it. I hope others will contribute their thoughts as well.

  • The nature of humanity is to observe, wonder about what we see and imagine or try to discover what it means. We are wont to consider the vast array of evidence from which we might learn more about the nature of existence. As rational creatures we consider cause and effect, seeking logical solutions to life’s myster

  • The great American plains with their vast horizons have not been far from my door for most of my life. I love their llanos, rolling hills and grasslands green or gold depending on the season. I have been to sea surrounded by blue above, below and on every side, but with no single color at my feet or to the farthest

  • Faith – I am a Trinitarian Christian believer. I believe the grace of God is made available to people of faith only through Jesus Christ’s atonement for sin and the transformation of the human spirit by the Holy Spirit. I also believe it’s only for God to say to which persons of any faith his grace applies. Her
