Well this has definitely been one very strange weekend..
My aunt took me out for a late birthday present to see this guy play live somewhere, he was pretty good. He had a type of happy feeling delta blues.. it wa s definitely interesting. He did a form of talking blues too, sort of a story telling thing while he sang, but he was still pretty good.1
Well I ended up getting invited to play saturday morning but friday night was much more entertaining.
Morgan came over and after a while we decided to start recording some songs just goofing off. She really is a great singer, probably the best i've ever heard. I got a recording of us if anybody wants to hear it. She has an amazing voice, she really does.2
Well saturday morning I went to play at this cafe about an hour away from my house like I said, they were all playing bluegrass and I was just kind of chilling in the back. I didn't really think I was going to play and I really didn't want to. The owner of the resturaunt kept telling me to quit being shy and to go up there and join the band, it took me an hour before I finally decided to get my guitar out of my car and join up there with the bluegrass players. I had a friend I had met there from a few nights before and he was telling me about the players and all their accomplishments and I was really impressed with what was going on. I just jumped in and tried to follow the progression (I didn't do to great of a job I haven't had much experience playing with other people) Everybody decided to quit playing and it was me and the guy that owned the place's grandson. I could tell this guy knew what was up, people just have that certain vibe to them and we hit it off pretty fast. We ended up doing a clapton song and I while I was playing I was sitting there trying to hold back vomit from all the stage fright. I was shaking terribly and my stomach was all queezy and I was lightheaded.. It was absolutely terrible, but despite all that I still managed to stay in time and keep up with him, though I didn't to too good of a job with the solo break.3
Well the guy was very impressed with my playing considering it was my first time in front of an audience and he wanted me to come jam with him sometime, at least i'll have somone to play guitar with now.
I had a great time though and with that and morgan coming over it probably made it the best weekend I have had in a long long long time. 4
Oh my aren't I an exciting person?

The first one that i'm getting into is called "Mickey Baker's Complete Course in Jazz Guitar". 1 I opened the first page and it shows the essential jazz chords that every jazz musician should know 2 There are 26 of them I only knew four of them..on Oct 1 4:33 PM, 100 words. → Make first comment?

So I found this site where it trains your ear for music. Theres 3 things you can do with the ear training part Intervals, chords, and scales. It's a really cool site, it also has other forms of training and testing stuff. It's an awesome site and it's really helped me out a lot. Oh gah I started the dreaded musical journal... 1 Well whatever happens from this point on I guess i'll keep track of. I had a friend tell me once that the best way to understand music is by studying other peoples music.. I figure maybe I should wrap my story up.. Where I left off last I had basicly given up guitar, I had no band, and I didn't really have any real friends. For a long long period of time I went on and off through serious drug phases. My brother had a job, I still had money from my dads disability check, me and my broon Sep 14 1:22 AM, 600 words. → 3 comments, Add one?

Today with a bit of encouragement of Mr. Wbiro, (aka Justplainwayne) I decided that I will start this music journal that i've always wanted to do. I'm not exactly sure where this is going, but then again I never really know where anything is going. This is how it all started, the roots of everything. 1 I'm not suon Sep 12 4:05 AM, 500 words. → 3 comments, Add one?
