better safe then sorry?

so today i was talking to this guy, he is one of those people who argues EVERYTHING, and is opinionated and stubborn and just all around frustrating. And some how while talking to him the subject of religion came up and he said
"well i figure better safe then sorry, if you believe in god and he turns out to be real when you get up to heaven god's all like hey you believed in me, you don’t have to burn in hell. and if he doesn’t exist then whatever. but if you don’t believe in god, well when you get up their god’s gunna be like you didn’t believe in me and then your screwed and the bible says you'll burn in hell, and if there’s no god then what ever. so either way your safer just believing in god"
and i thought about it, and that’s complete bull shit. the Christian god is not the only god, so if you really want to use the argument "better safe then sorry" as a reason to believe in god, well then you better make sure you worship every religion. but wait? don’t, Idunno, Christians for example think its a sin to believe in something other then their god and their Jesus? well then your off to hell if you believe Hindu or Buddhist or Jewish customs (which I will attest to knowing nothing about) and the Christian god is real. But your also off to jewish hell if you follow the Christian faith. there are so many different religions that exist that you cant be "better safe then sorry" the likely hood of any one of them existing is all equal. so no, I’d rather not be safe and believe in the Christian god and go to Hindu hell (or what ever the Hindu belief is). it just doesn’t work to be better safe then sorry, Christianity isn’t the only religion.
