Repo vs. Rocky

O.k so while I was at A-fest, Anime Fest, I was talking with some people who did shadow casting for the Rocky Horror and we started talking about why people compared the Rocky to Repo, Repo the genetic opera.
Some professed that the Rocky Horror as a movie totally sucked ass but they liked doing the shadow cast because it was genuinely fun and movie is historical as far as cult classics go.
They then stated that they liked Repo, but they thought that the creators were trying to do away, so to speak, with Rocky almost like they're to replace it.
I assured them that that is not what the creators were trying to do they were simply trying to create something that was fun, dark , and interesting which was something it did not fall short on sure there were plot holes and missing scenes but it was still fun and different I mean can you name any other futuristic horror films in which everyone is singing operatically: Note Sweeney Todd was not an Opera they were singing every spoken line.
In the end we all agreed that both movies are in a category all their own neither movies should be compared to me at least it would be like comparing an old 1930's black and white original Dracula to say Bram Stokers Dracula staring Anthony Hopkins.
The old one has that classic historicalness to it that you just cannot replace or duplicate and the new one has that sort of new car smell it's good and you like it sure it's got kinks but you still like and miss your first beat up piece of junk.
Yeah you hated it, cursed it and all that and sure you love your new one and all it's new cool compartments but they just don't compare.1

Sorry for the rant/ramble I just thought I would get it off my chest while it was still fresh.
