there is this woman in the apartment building who is always getting her mail when I get mail. she watches me approach the building from her window and she meets me at the bottom of the stairs. she gets mail from her brother most days and she tells me how he hates it in new york and he just wants to be back here, in his old room.
they're incestuous, I think.

Lol! Someone times her visits to the mailbox to coincide with your own and you assume not that it's her liking you but that it's something more sinister than sisterly love going on in there.
Either you have a lot more facts to go on than you're letting on, or you're a very negative person.

1 I realized I am completely unhappy with my poetry. 2 I never really thought about what I actually think of my own poetry until very recently. My poetry is full of observations, but does not reflect actual feelings. this is the extent of the desperate: a few days ago, a good friend convinced me to eat a pig.
