A Little Bit About Me

When I think about where I am today,I reflect back on who I have been.
I have been wife, stand-in mom, best friend, sister, daughter
but most of all I have been free.
I have lived my life the way I wanted, where I wanted, when I wanted.
Roving this land like a long lost gypsy. Never settling down in one spot for long.
I have laughed and I have cried. I have prayed and I have sinned.
I was a flower child who just grew up to be an old hippie. I never got into drugs but I drank. I have loved many people but only had one true love.
I have studied the Native American way and always wondered why I was so drawn to them. I just found out in the past few years that my grandmother was half Cherokee and half Irish. When I dream I dream of the past, not my recent past but the past of my ancestors. I hear voices in the wind and all mother nature speaks to me. I take lessons from the animals, the trees and the stones.
Mountains and stream calm my soul. Rainbows brighten my day. Storms give me energy.
I love walking barefoot in the grass, going skinny dipping at midnight.
Most of all I love writing and letting my imagination go wild.
I do not regret any of my life and I know I still have a lot of living to do.
Join me on this wonderful journey we call LIFE!!

Nice...my father is full Cherokee Indian, my mother is have Syrian(my Grandfather was from Syria) and my grandmother was English. I remember growing up spending alot of time at my Uncle Mike's lake. He owned a part of it and people would swim. They had wild parties at night and my uncle Mike sang in a band...people would be skinny dipping and just getting wild. For a kid it was a crazy sight but I loved it. Good write.

That's awesome that you don't regret anything. We would all be happier if everyone did that. Look to the future, laugh at the past, but most importantly, enjoy the present. Wonderful to learn even more things about you, my lovely aunt =]
and, ahh! I love feeling the grass beneath my feet too =]

  • It is another hot steamy day here in Virginia and I am trying to think of a reason to be thankful that is so hot. Guess what, I cannot think of one! I love the cooler weather. The nice crisp breeze of fall and the cooler nights when you can really get a good night's sleep. I love being able to leave my windows o
  • After days of extreme heat and bright sun, I am glad to see a little gray. It makes me appreciate the coolness it can bring. This weekend was spent in the mountains of the Shenendoah National Park. It was a fun filled weekend with friends. There was music, tours, hikes and good food. I am glad to be back home th

  • Today has been a day for me to just let memories flood my soul memories of people who have came into my life for only a short while but who have touched me so completely they will always be remembered. There was a young man named Jimmy who was the son of my roommate/adopted sister.  He was full blood Lakota
  • I got home late last night. I had just spent two beautiful days at the cabin in the woods. Of course, the first thing I did when I got home was check out All Poetry to see what was going on. The news of Sam hit me hard. This little girl made me realize how petty my troubles were and she gave me hope and faith aga
  • I woke up this morning thinking about my hometown. It was the county seat of our county in West Virginia and had about 1500 people. The town square was just that. It was a square smack dab in the middle of downtown. The courthouse was built in the 1800's and had one of those old towers with a clock in the middle
