Learning, the hard way, since 1981.
paranoid, hypocrite, dependent, eccentric, unrefined,
morbid, independent, contradictory, introspective.
I really like free verse poetry,
short poems, prose, and haikus.
I write mostly as a venting process (emotional catharsis if you will). I've grown a lot emotionally in the last few years, but sometimes I feel like I'm closing again. Sometimes I feel like I need to hibernate and wait for good weather and good people to appear again.
I criticize my own work so much that by the time it's done, I can only submit it online where the anonymous nature of the internet protects me from disapproval and my own paranoia.
I'm like driftwood.
and now "Joey" by Shel Silverstein
----------------------------------------------------------
Joey Joey took a stone
And knocked
Down
The
Sun!
And whoosh! it swizzled
Down so hard,
And bloomp! it bounced
In his backyard,
And glunk! it landed
On his toe!
And the world was dark,
And the corn wouldn't grow,
And the wind wouldn't blow,
And the cock wouldn't crow,
And it always was Night,
Night,
Night,
All because
Of a stone
And Joe.
