JapscotShow poetry

First of all, my username is "japscot" because I'm part Japanese and part Scottish. =)

Secondly, I guarantee I could beat any of you in ping-pong, Halo (1, 2, or 3), MarioKart, Boggle, Speed, Egyptian Rat Killer, etc.

I'm a senior at MU where I'm studying Music Therapy. I'll be an MT-BC next April! And then I plan on getting my Master's in either Song Composition (at Webster) or Nordoff-Robbins (which is a specific MT technique that you can just google or Wikipedia for more info. It's amazing!)

I want to work in a pysch ward and help people... for one, because I have been and continue to be "crazy" and I realize that thoughts storm your head of their own volition and you have no control over those thoughts and if you have very strange thoughts, that may just be because you are accessing a part of your brain that others are not. I don't know, I could talk about the mind for hours. I guess that's why I'm minoring in Psychology. And I also want to work in a psych ward because I believe there is hope for anyone suffering from mental illness and music is the healing force of the universe and it crosses bridges other experiences and drugs cannot.

I love learning. When I'm out of school (which is only a maximum of a few weeks) I'm stir crazy and itching to be back in school again!!!

I love school. If you don't love school, you're in the wrong degree program! And don't use that "there's nothing i'm good at" or "i don't like anything" BS. You can be a freaking recreational therapist and just run around playing games... stop sitting around whining about your future, and research some different fields and make it happen!

I love sports. I play in indoor and sand volleyball leagues, I also play tennis, and basketball.

I love music. My favorite bands include, but are certainly not limited to: Muse, Carolina Liar, Keane, Fiona Apple, Rachael Yamagata, Ben Folds, etc.

I love reading. Some of my favorite books include "Lucky" by Alice Sebold, and anything written by C.S. Lewis

I mainly play guitar, piano, and then sing. But I can also hold my own with a djembe, hammered dulcimer, surdo, or autoharp!

I love being outside. I live in a nice country area. My neighbors have horses. I have a creek and spring behind my house.

I love writing. I mainly write music, which I consider to be a completely separate entity from poetry, so I joined this forum to sharpen my poetry skills, which may eventually sharpen my song-lyricism.

I'm single. There are reasons. I only dated one guy. He was great, but broke my heart into literally millions of pieces that I've never been able to regather. Though, good memories still remain: like our first date, which was skydiving!!! Best first date ever! So I have relationships with guys and I flirt with them and date, but never anything serious. I'm just out to have fun, I guess, because I'm a sucker for independence!

I love traveling. I've been to most of the states. The furthest away I went was to Haiti. I worked in an orphanage there one summer. Best experience of my life!

    hello awesomeness
  • "e no control over those thoughts and if you have very strange thoughts"

i think you can ignore those thoughts if you want. it takes practice but people can put their minds on mute and that is the essential idea of meditation which is supposed to be a great thing for people and their peace at mind.

so you have your mind on a leash instead of the other way around, youll have the power over your mind..
