Jannie is currently writing a paranormal crime thriller, LEAVE A WHISPER, with another novel marinating. She’s written a children’s book, THE TAIL THAT WAGGED THE DOG, about her grandson and his Boxer, Rocky, that teaches children it’s okay to be different. A series is planned for Rocky and his adventures with a lesson and moral in each story. Her work of short stories, poetry, and flash fiction is published in The Writers Post Journal magazine and Whim's Place first anthology of flash stories, ON A WHIM, that will be available at Barnes & Nobles and Amazon in 2008.
She writes thrillers: paranormal crime and paranormal mysteries. She also writes short stories. Poetry is just for her personal pleasure, although published-- and some of her poetry is dark and written especially for her novel, LEAVE A WHISPER.
She is a editor for her editorial service, Balliett Editorial Services, helping other writers prepare their works for submission. She recently started web hosting for personal and business websites, Best Deal Web Hosting. She has advice columns, Ask JR on Advicenators.com and Ask JR.blogspot.com which she finds enjoyable and challenging.
She’s a transplanted Texan, has raised three grown Texans, has six grandchildren, another on the way, and one great-granddaughter. She lives in Austin with her female Boxer, Roxxie, who always listens without interrupting, never talks back, and honestly critiques her work better than anyone.
"In every talented person with a small desire to write-- hides a truly gifted writer, once armed with a little knowledge." --Jannie Balliett
