I-will-let-you-beShow poetry

Hello all, my name is Allison. I don't have a particular style, sometimes my poems rhyme, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I rhyme just one verse to show the importance. And when I do rhyme my poems, I may not follow a rhyme scheme at all [like aabb] but rhyme simply when I want to, with many different schemes in one. This may bother you, but it's just the way I write, I like variation. It's always put towards the purpose of the poem. I also use alot of abnormal wording in my poems, but it is done for a reason and not to irritate people haha! I believe that, sometimes, those who write love the best are those who have never truly experienced it. That way, there is more left to the imagination, and everything is beautiful. When I'm alone or have free time, I love reading and writing. I get most of my ideas at night, or the early hours of the morning. My inspiration comes life experiences or from a random thought or idea. I love writing....and can hopefully go somewhere with that in the future. I don't have my poems on here anymore, but if you're interested in reading any, just let me know. I love to meet new people and read new poetry, so if you want someone to read yours, I'd be happy to.

If you want to read some great poetry,
check out the work of my AP Brother 'Lone Defender' at
http://allpoetry.com/LoneDefender ...you won't regret it! He is amazingly talented and I look up to him very much. I hope to be able to write like him someday.

Here are some of my favourite POEMS:

"Funeral Blues"

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message 'He is Dead.'
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

W.H. Auden

"O You Whom I Often and Silently Come"

O you whom I often and silently come where you are that I may be with you,
As I walk by your side or sit near, or remain in the same room with you,
Little you know the subtle electric fire that for your sake is
playing within me.

Walt Whitman

"Out of the Rolling Ocean the Crowd"

Out of the rolling ocean the crowd came a drop gently to me,
Whispering I love you, before long I die,
I have travel'd a long way merely to look on you to touch you,
For I could not die till I once look'd on you,
For I fear'd I might afterward lose you.
Now we have met, we have look'd, we are safe,
Return in peace to the ocean my love,
I too am part of that ocean my love, we are not so much separated,
Behold the great rondure, the cohesion of all, how perfect!
But as for me, for you, the irresistible sea is to separate us,
As for an hour carrying us diverse, yet cannot carry us diverse forever;
Be not impatient--a little space--know you I salute the air, the
ocean and the land,
Every day at sundown for your dear sake my love.

Walt Whitman
----------------------------------------------------------
"I Am He That Aches With Love"

I am he that aches with amorous love;
Does the earth gravitate? does not all matter, aching, attract all matter?
So the body of me to all I meet or know

Walt Whitman
----------------------------------------------------------
"Fire and Ice"

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Robert Frost
