Hello everyone! My name is Christin, & I am 25 yrs. old. I began writing poetically, strictly descriptives, when I was just getting out of elementary. I use to love writing papers, while everyone one else stared blandly at their notebk paper, no where near creativity.
I worked with a reknowned professor/ modern poet that taught in NY. Most of his critiquing came by knowing so & so through the grapevine, he's not exactly a household name because he didn't go way out there to advertise his critiquing hobby, nor did he take under everyone who wanted his review. My point is, he found my work & contacted me right away. He asked me if I would like to work w/ him because he noticed some lucky poem that was half-way decent. Of course I said yes, & then he proceeded to show me his work, award-winning, literally, so (as he put it) so I could get a feel of his talent & style. This a great highlight, of my writing life & am indeed proud of that honor, but I apologize if it may come off as bragging or trivial, but it was a big deal for me at the time.
I will never self-publish or wish to get published w/ a collection of work. Before I 'kick the bucket' I would like nothing more to be published in top ten best poetic/ writing journals in America, the world (surrre Christin
, whatever.I give painstakingly truthful crits to poems I believe I can change or just be tweaked for the better. I expect the same in return. I also don't want those 'critiques' that are about two lines long & speak in general, all fluff, no presicion & ignorance in the art of poetry I respect so much. People can write rhymes, sonnets, free, modern, but very few, very few people will ever be Poets, writing Poetry. Myself included.
Can't wait to get to know you all!!!
ciao,
christin
