Hello! My real name is Natalie, and I'm a Christian. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world, then physically rose again, conquering over death and Hell. The Bible also says that confession of sin and belief in Jesus Christ is the only way we can have eternal life in Heaven with God the Father, rather than spend an eternity in Hell. God offers His Son Jesus to everyone- all you have to do is accept that gift!

I AM A CHRISTIAN

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.

WHEN SKIES ARE BRASS

When skies are brass and, though we pray,
No answer comes; and when our day
Is filled with pain and grief and care,
Sometimes we wonder, "Is God there?
And does He hear us- does He know
The pangs we suffer? And if so- (Is.53:3-4)
Because He is omnipotent, (Matt.28:18)
And we so weak, our small strength spent- (I Cor. 12:9)
Why not reach down His mighty hand
To help?" Could we but understand (Prov.3:5)
His ways with us- could we but know
What God is doing for us now! (John 13:7)

What is God doing for us now?
O child of His, why should we know? (Jer.33:3)
He is the Potter, we the dust, (Jer.18:6)
Shaped by His hand. Can we not trust? (Job13:15)
Enough that He, the Perfect One,
Will finish what He has begun. (Phil.1:6)
The master Artist's own design,
Worked out in lives like yours and mine.
The Shepherd knoweth what is best (Ps.23:1)
For that small lamb upon His breast;
And tenderly the Father feeds (Prov.30:8)
And nourishes the child He leads. (Matt.4:4;Ps.23:3,5)

O suffering ones, whose skies are brass,
Know that all grief and pain will pass;
All tears be dried. We may be sure (Rev.21:4)
This life is but the overture.
Some day our voices we shall raise
In swelling symphonies of praise...
We could not bear it yet to know
What God is doing for us now! (Is.55:8-9)

(I Cor.2:9)

HE IS MY SONG: By Natalie V Rankin

What greater grace is there to see
Than that of when my Lord chose me
To be His own eternal wife,
Though I have lived a harlot's life;
With words of love, in softest voice,
Forever He has made His choice-
And on that day I wear His ring,
He is the song that I will sing.

Just about every poem I write has some kind of rhyme scheme to it.  I usually write poems that involve ideas that God has impressed on my own heart.  And I do love to share them with others!  I also like to try my hand at other creative types of poems on occasion.

Here's my favorite poem that I mentioned below...well, one of my many favorites, really.  My pastor read this in a sermon once.  I hope you all like it!

~~~~~~~
He leads us on paths we did not know,
Upward, He leads us through, though our steps be slow,
Though oft we faint and falter on the way,
Though storms and darkness oft obscure the day;
Yet when the clouds are gone,
We know He leads us on.
He leads us on through all the unquiet years,
Past all our dreamland hopes and doubts and fears;
He guides our steps through all the tangled maze
Of losses, sorrows, and/or clouded days;
We know His will is done,
And still He leads us on.
Another poem I simply LOVE, by one Claude McKay:
I cannot think that God has meant for shadows to be fearsome things,
Else He would not have given us the shadow of His wing,
Nor would His tall trees by the way trace out a cool place
Where weary travelers may pause to find His soothing grace,
Nor would the shadow of the night enfold us in the tranquil rest
That falls upon the sleeping babe rocked in its mother's breast;
And though the shadows over life may seem to creep apace,
Behind the darkest one of them is His assuring face.
Life Verses:
(1) Philippians 1:6~
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
(2) Psalm 138:8~
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
(3) Psalm 17:15~
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be saitisfied, when I awake with thy likeness.
Quote To Live By:
"There is no object that we see; no action that we do; no good that we enjoy; no evil that we feel or fear, but we may make some spiritual advantage of all: and he that makes such improvement is wise, as well as pious." ~~ Anne Bradstreet
