HawkeslakeShow poetry

After nearly 40 years of living with my beloved, including the intensity of caring for her during her final days, I am now building a new life, really for the first time in my life, living alone. Well, except for the two Maine Coon cats who own me. I have a great new condo with a lovely sunporch that makes me feel like I live in a treehouse. So far, goldfinches, chickadees, nuthatches and downy woodpeckers have all come to the feeder, and I also saw a ruby-throated hummingbird this week, probably starting his migration south. I have returned to my various crafts, sewing and crocheting, and of course, writing. I've been writing poetry and short stories since I was a child, and now seem to be learning how to write for children...I've been making little books for my great-nephews, and am now taking a course on bookbinding, so that I can make my books look professional. Retired as of Sept. 28, 2009, I have SO many things I want to try!

For me, AP has been a soul-saver during dire times. Blessings on all my AP friends and AP family, with whose support I am beginning to find my way again.

I'm excited for you. Although, I admit, I can't imagine what it must be like putting up with those Maine Coon cats. They're usually pretty moody creatures, aren't they?

I look forward to your poetry.
