Advanced Roleplay

In character description:

The Kingdom of Vel'daris, 1400. Ruled by Vincent Dust the VII, King of Vel'daris. The royal Castle of Vel'daris towers above everything, set high upon a hill. Surrounding the castle, at the foot of the hill, was the bustling city, where the middle class people lived, and where the merchants would sell their goods. And reaching out to the borders of the realm, there were a few rural villages with small castles, each overseen by a noble lord with a small army of knights. Where will you place in this kingdom?

Out of character description:
(I know there's a lot, but please read!)

• This group is run by a few people. I (Mythical Sunrise) am listed as group leader, however this is only in theory. In practice, every officer will have the same power as me, and we all discuss with each other about what we think is right or wrong to do with the group. There's five of us, so basically, majority wins.

• This is a medieval roleplay, and all characters are human here. There will only be a limited amount of magic. And when I say limited, I mean that a lot of work will be involved just to be able to shoot a small fireball at someone. So, NO modern or futuristic apparatus. So, no cars, no electricity, no telephones, no ipods, no modern clothing. AND NO GUNS. If you want a ranged weapon, pick up a longbow or crossbow. Act as medieval people would act, as much as is humanly possible. Remember what time setting it is. And, in accordance with the point above, don't dress in modern clothes or speak modern words. They didn't have bikinis, jeans or hoodies in medieval times, nor did they speak in slang.

• Don't join expecting to be placed in a noble/powerful rank immediately, because it just won't happen. You'll be placed in a low rank, chosen for you by the officers based on your character sheet, and you will have to be active and participate to work your way through the ranks.

• You have to have a certain standard of roleplay before you're let in, because this is an advanced roleplay. The entrance criteria will be stated below.

• Please read all rules upon acceptance.

In your application:

• For OOC purposes, state your name and age. Your name doesn't have to be your real name, just a name we can call you to avoid mixing IC with OOC (commonly known as blurring). However, it WILL be what we call you by, so make sure you're comfortable with it and it's not inappropriate.

• Write a sample of roleplay to show how you write. It does not have to be long, a paragraph or two should do. A good sample of roleplay should be spelled perfectly, have good grammar, be at least semi-descriptive and be in the third person perspective. This can be from any style of roleplay you wish, it does not have to adhere to the medieval theme. It's just a test of your roleplay skills.

Afterwards...

• If you're successful in applying, you will be accepted into the group. An officer will send you a message confirming that you are now in the group, and will send you the link to the rules topic and the character sheet topic. A character sheet must be sent in and approved by an officer before you start to roleplay.

• If you're unsuccessful in applying, an officer will message you to explain why you did not get into the group, and things you may wish to improve on. Keep in mind, this is only our opinion, but improving these aspects of your roleplay skills may make you more successful should you wish to apply to this group again.

Well... if you're still here, after all that, you really do deserve a medal for patience. Apply below, and we hope to be roleplaying with you soon! ^_^
