AP Greeter Application and Training

A lot of questions come up bout how to become a Greeter and what exactly it is that Greeters do.

First off, to be a Greeter it is recommended to have at least 6 months time on the site.   This gives applicants the opportunity to become accustomed to how the site works as well as commenting on other’s work.  Also, it is required that applicants be at least 17 years of age.  This is because each Greeter is to read and comment on new member's posts and some are in the Adult, Erotica, and Abuse categories. Anyone under the age of 15 will not be able to view such poems.  The Greeter Team welcomes AllPoetry’s new members by reading and commenting on their work.  This is a very important function, because it helps to promote a continued support and involvement in the site from the new member.  Each Greeter Team Member has a set number of required reads / comments per daily login which needs to be adhered to, to accomplish this.  Sometimes those posts are under the categories that cannot be accessed by the younger members of AP.  That would mean that they may miss a new member, and that they are not given the same opportunity to be welcomed to the site.  This is why it is strongly suggested that any applicants be at least 17 years of age.  Please DO NOT falsify your information to be possibly considered.  If you are caught doing this, you will lose your position as well as risk the chance of being black listed from ever holding a position on the Greeter Team in the future. 

We are also called upon as the AllPoetry Help Desk to assist members with any questions they may have about the site.  So, an excellent knowledge of the site’s functionality is definitely a plus.  But if you don’t have too much site savvy, that’s OK.  We all learn as we go.

Our goal here is to make each and every member’s stay a little more enjoyable.  So a pleasant attitude is a standard that the Greeter Team tries to maintain at all times.  We are often the first contact for new members, and first impressions mean a lot to us.  We continually hope that when a new member joins, they WANT to keep coming back because of the positive experience they have had with the site due to us doing our job.

Lastly, if you are already a "staff member" such as a Moderator or Teacher, you cannot be a Greeter as well.  We want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to be on the Team that isn't already affiliated with the site somehow in one of those capacities.

If you have already applied on the past application column, there is no need to re-apply.  Your application has been saved and those applications are being reviewed as well.  You can contact Little Feather and ask her any questions you might have about it.

If you are considered for the position, you will be notified.  If you are not immediately notified after you leave your application, please be patient.  There are numerous members applying, and every one of them is given the same attention while we evaluate them when a position opens up.

2. If you had a choice to be described as trustworthy or outgoing, which would best describe you?

3. How much site savvy do you have about AP?
(How much do you know about how the site works?)
