I'm like just about any stuggling teen going through a parents' divorce, police investigation for sexual harassment, and restraining orders... Okay, so maybe not so ordinary. Anyway, all these problems have helped me to mature in my poetry, from where I started out. I'm also dealing with Junior year in high school and advanced classes there. I've gone to the dark side and love it, because it inspires me. I know I need to turn around, especially to help out my mom, but for now I'm perfectly fine with this darker side of me.
If you read my poems, the most recently written would never have been suspected done by a sixteen-year-old girl. Each poem relates to a personal experience for me and I remember each one fairly well.
A favorite quote of mine is by Wendell Berry. "To know the dark, go dark. Go without sight, and find that the dark, too, bloom and sings, and is travelled by dark feet and dark wings."
I'm also a Christian. So, living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is what I consider my ultimate test. Hopefully that means that soon I can go home, to Heaven.
My favorite book quote is:
"I was cursed before I even met you - cursed by my own blood, cursed by an ancient spell to become what I am now."
As well as:
"'Vampiro,' Marcello stated, his accent thick and heavy as it lingered on that one word for what seemed like an eternity. 'I am a vampire. But more importantly, I am your master.'"
Both are from the book "Eternally Bound" by Michelle Pillow
There is a site I post all my poetry by date written. People should come see it, 15071991.proboards84.com (I'm the admin, obviously)
