Poetry, storytelling and songwriting are members of the same family. I have a deep appreciation for any of the literary arts and believe that creative writing, whatever its form, renders a fleeting glimpse, a snippet of insight, into the inner world of the author.
To live an unexamined life is our greatest travesty and we cannot grow as we are intended to, without putting our own lives under a lens of scrutiny. Writing can do this by giving us a vehicle to crystalize our thoughts and emotions that often elude clarity and meaning. Writing can also be a catharsis in this process leading to a new awareness of who and what we are. The journey of self discovery ultimately opens the door to the spiritual growth and evolution we so richly deserve.
Many of my poems find their way into my music and become songs. I have released a 10 track CD of my original tunes, to hear samples go to ttp://www.cdbaby.com/cd/henriferguson">
