Well... about me...
If you're wondering why I'm called eveningthought the here's why: I wrote a poem one and the word sort of just came to me as a title. Then upon googling it I found out someone had already take the name for their poem, so that sucked a bit. So, I am not copying anyone!!!
To describe my poetry, well, I guess I'll say it's a mish-mash of everything subject-wise. I can be inspired by nature, by history, books music, my own imagination, real life etc. Naturally if I'm feeling blue I will probably write a poem of my feelings, but I am DEFINATELY NOT one of those teenagers who think that they can write poetry and who just ends up writing poems about depression and self-harm. The only time that sort of poetry is good is when it's honest, not contrived to be cool. Writing is a catharsis for me, but I want to write stuff that is different and varied, that covers alot of ground and can be ambiguous as well as easy to identify with. Kind of like Sylvia Plath, who I only got into recently thank to having to learn about her in school.
I love writing stories, poems and lyrics and I definately think and hope that one day I'll have that book in me published but my first love is and always will be my music. I love anything that moves me, mostly rock and classical music (that explians the love of Nightwish, I guess!). I've listened to clasical music since I was little and have sung it practically all my life, and I got into rock and metal music around the time I was 11 and being bullied in school. I'm a singer, with no real experience on any other instrument, but is trying to learn! I'm currently a mezzo-soprano, but I aspire to become a soprano someday and perform in a real opera or musical. I also love languages! I am a native English speaker, but I speak near fluent Afrikaans (being half South African), competent Irish and ever-improving French. At college I hope to do Dutch and German, as those are my favourite languages, along with music of course!

My Poetry
-
Cradle of simple, short lives,
Home of ugly and lovely beings. -
When it's too warm i think of summer rain.
In blue light I believe in summer rain. -
Fruitless feeling, fruitless love,
That is this apple’s true design.
