They say that realisation is the key. I dare to disagree, on behalf of the cowards in this universe. It is all well and good reaching the point where you are aware what it is you want, what your heart aches for, but what do you do when you gain this knowledge? Not everyone has the courage to stand up for what they believe in. Sad? but so true. Some of us are too scared of rejection, of upsetting the balance to ever step out of our comfort zone. I suppose it's easier to yearn for something your entire life, than to get it and spend forever waiting for it to be taken from you. Cynical? Jaded? Perhaps but that is what a lifetime of loss instills in you.
A quote from my favourite book 'Tess of the D'urbevilles'
'...when two people are once parted...have abandoned a common domicile and a common environment...new growths insensibly bud upwards to fill each vacated place; unforseen accidents hinder intentions, and old plans are forgotten.'
