I put the pen to paper,
And try to just let the feelings flow,
Out of my meaningless, confused being,
And into words, so that people know.
I feel, as they do, as you do, as all,
I want what many young females do,
I wish I were different and special,
But even as I write these things don't always seem true.
Would the world be better or worse,
If I dropped my pen,
Would it really matter to anyone,
If I never wrote again?
Maybe the underlying layers,
The part of me that is different,
Are so far down, that they're hard to see,
So no one knows of my brilliance.
My rhythm may be off,
And my flow obscure,
My intentions unclear,
And my thoughts blurred,
But I can see what I really mean,
And that's good enough...for me.
