I'm a high school jazz fan, and I had just started writing this January after my grandmother's passing. She was a poet and I decided to write poetry to honor her. As it stands I have a long way to go and I am focused on constantly improving. My influences are W.E.B. DuBois, Richard Wright, Cornell West, John Coltrane, Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, etc.
