Hi, all. I've been writing for about 4-5 years now, but took a break from it all when I joined the Marine Corps in 08 I've only recently started writing again a little while ago, and I feel like the poetry I write now isn't near what it used to be. I'm trying... The Corps just seemed to have killed off a bit of inspiration... I can't even draw anymore. It sucks.
Anyway,
I currently live in Cherry Point, NC, but was born and raised in FL.
***Myself on poetry in general:
Poetry isn't all about finding elaborate adjectives and such to describe a feeling, setting, person, or anything else. It shouldn't be a frantic clamoring for the right word.
I feel like poetry's only focus should be conveying the author's mood however clearly or vaguely he or she wants it to appear. It's not all about rhyme schemes and not always about flow.
It's about the passion, because there's no such thing as a unique interaction anymore, with the exception of those dealt with a true passion.
***
I'll post them as they come.
