What to say about me? Not much. My poems are sometimes lyrics that I'd love to get recorded, but in my dinky lil town no one has any equipment to help me attain that dream. *sighs* Oh well. I can still write!
I am an activist, an advocate and an educator. I started a chapter of Students Taking Action Now: Darfur, an anti-genocide constituency, in my hometown in Alaska. I feel that people should learn more about what has happened in Darfur, Sudan. The genocide has killed up to 450,000+ people in Darfur and left millions living on humanitarian aid. I think this is just wrong! Women and children are being taken as sex slaves, men are murdered and mutilated, and random people are massacred and slaughtered each day because of where and what they are, "black Africans" living in the Darfur region of Sudan in Africa. If YOU want to learn how to help stop the first genocide of the 21st century, go to:

among many other websites. Please, if you feel strongly against GOVERNMENT-AIDED MURDER, donate your time or make a tax-deductable donation to help the survivors of genocide at the above organisations.

I'm getting out of a relationship, apparently I was more serious about it than he was, and gah! You don't wanna hear about that. Classic teenaged love story. Look it up.
My poems about love and relationships are mainly reflections of my past relations and such. There was one boyfriend I had where things went wrong, and grr. Yeah. Ended badly, so there's bound to be a few (hundred! I'm kidding!) about him.

Aurora: Matt, be careful with that knife; I don't want you to cut yourself.

My penname and name I sort of wish I had is Akasha because I love the skies. My mother swears I was a bird in another life, and my friend from India, Nadhya, said that I reminded her of an elemental, surreal and ethereal.
She also said I was crazy, so I don't know if I would trust her judgement...
"Life is like an airplane. You know, it's got a thing of turbulence and smoothness. If you try to go up too high or stay at one altitude, you get turbulence, and if you let it get so bad, you crash. You just have to get it so that you can get out, rebuild the airplane, and get back up into the air. And, you have to know you're not alone. You still have your copilots, and if all else fails, you have your guardian angel and God to help you rebuild your plane."
