Although born two weeks prior to the vernal equinox, this young man finds himself to enjoy the early autumn best. The brilliant colors of the leaves of maple, oak, and birch, the cool crisp air filling the deepest caverns of his lungs, and the taste of fresh tart apples are some of the things that bring him sincere joy. Although many of his poems are more of a deeply personal nature, this young man does delight in sharing several pieces, including those of free verse and loose rhyming schemes.
Other hobbies include fiction reading, singing, several genres of music listening, and digital photography, the subject for the latter is mostly of landscapes and close-ups of flora found around his backyard, nearby state parks, and the north shore of Lake Superior.
Most of the poetry I write on this site is what is floating in my head or about the mood I am in. It usually is unedited, unadulterated, untarnished; at least I hope.
I do not enter contests for two reasons. First of all, I like to be self-inspired to write; my muse must come from within. The second reason is related to the first, I write what is on my mind or from my own emotional state. Although I may be inspired to write from what others portray to me, it is from what I first internalize or process that spurs me on to compose.

My Poetry
-
my head is swimming in a fog as thick as soup
as caffeine and a million ideas rush through my brain -
After thoughts of the passing day, things going around me (us), this flowed out... maybe as a warning, maybe as a prophetic vision.

I love this time of year when autumn slowly manifests itself through the passing of summer.

Wrote this some 2 years ago after walking through a nearby park. It is stream-of-consciousness writing, random, and lacks plot.
