Everything before the "but" is bullshit...

I believe in the Gestalt Prayer.
The key idea of the statement
is the focus on living in response to one's own needs,
without projecting onto or taking introjects -
characteristics of a person or object -
into one's own psyche unconsciously from others.
It also expresses the idea that it is by fulfilling their own needs
that people can help others do the same
and create space for genuine contact;
that is, when they "find each other, it's beautiful".
The Prayer:
"I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I,
and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
If not, it can't be helped
(and all is still beautiful)."
(Fritz Perls, 1969)

I used to call myself atheist
until I did some serious thinking.
I am not convinced by any means,
but I am not completely closed
to the idea of a "Consciousness"
that is the universe.
After all, I have consciousness,
my cats seems to have consciousness,
the fly on the wall
seems to have some
teeny glimmer of consciousness.
So if every being in the universe
manifests a degree
of that One Consciousness
in proportion to the complexity
of its nervous system,
I can buy that.
I have no clue as to the truth of it,
but I am open to such possibilities
that allow for an appreciation of mysteries
as yet uncomprehended by us humans
with our particular degree of consciousness.

My favourite pagan goddess is
Rhiannon -
goddess of the horse
and the moon...

Lord of the forest and field and of the starlit night
I acknowledge the truth that for me to live
something must die.
I give thanks for the gift of free will,
and the responsibility that comes with choice.
I choose to abstain from the cycle of unnecessary suffering.
I say to the animals:
You do not have to suffer and die for me.
I say to the corporate death machines:
You do not have to kill for me
and you shall no longer profit from my blindness.
I say to the Earth and all that is holy
that I choose to lay down the sword.
and take in peace instead.
May compassion fulfill and transform me.
May I give as you give, love as you love,
and may my choices bring grace into my life
as you bring grace into this world.

two of my tattoos...

the truest truths are what hold us together,
or keep us painfully, desperately apart...
What do I look for in poetry? The answer seems simple enough:
I want a poem that can take me to bed, soft and slow or hard
and rough with a gun to my head. I want a poem that can break
down every single thing I expect and rip a window in the world
for me to crawl through on my bare hands and knees.
I want a poem that kills the critic and silences the masses
or causes a war where the only weapons are words.
I want a poem that cuts off
my toes and feeds them to my dog, after having been
taken ill from a strangely placed snakebite.
Basically I want to be entertained, so make it good.
But by the gods, pleeeeze don't bore me...
The world's last poet
strolls down the world's last corridor of trees,
while behind him (discreetly, not to distract him),
the world's last lumberjacks
hack down the trees to make the pulp
to make the paper for the world's last
book of poetry, which the poet,
inspired by the trees,
is about to write...
I am a princess. All girls are.
Even if they live in tiny old attics.
Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty,
or smart, or young. They're still princesses.
All of us. Didn't your father ever tell you that?
Didn't he?
Merlin: Love is a force
Young Arthur: Is it very powerful?
Merlin: Yes.. some would say
the greatest power in the Universe...
"I was born when she kissed me.
I died when she left me.
I lived a few weeks while she loved me.

it will locate you

~ There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt.
Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships
and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts;
it is a sword that kills.

Raptors couldn’t make love. That’s why they’re extinct.

First strikes the new awakened sense;
The other when two souls unite,

~ “If we cut up beasts simply because they cannot
prevent us and because we are backing our own
side in the struggle for existence,
it is only logical to cut up imbeciles, criminals, enemies,

You
me
each and every one of us
is strong.
Do not underestimate yourself.
Life will kick you when you are down, so get right back up.
Do not show weakness, you have it in you to fight - to trust yourself.
You will be truly amazed when you give yourself that chance.
Embrace this immense strength and blessing
that your inner spirit has endowed on you
and face the challenges of this world with a smile.
