Well there isn't really much to say except I am from Qld Australia, and I was brought up on a property/ranch. I have been riding horses since I was 3 1/2 years old, and motorbikes since I was bout 16 years old. I also own a ute which I love very much!!

 

 

 

As for my poetry.......I have been writing poetry now for about 14 years, most of what I have written is personal poetry as you would see if you have read them. I write mostly 2 line stanzas as that is mostly all I have ever written. I am starting to broaden my poetry level now a little, as I have just started letting other people read my poems and comment on them. I have never had any of my poems published, but would some day like to write my own book. I have always thought my poems were not good enough to let the public see them, but I think most poets don't like much of their own work. I am hoping that through the poetry sites I am a member of, that I will find some one who wants to publish my poems. Or some one who knows some one who will publish my poems...... (if ya got that)

A POEM WRITTEN FOR ME BY MY SOUL FRIEND 

 

 

My Soul Friend, My Countrybabe


A woman came into my life awhile back

Who showed me another way to love

She handed me a chance to seek

And gave me a little shove


I took it


This loving and darling angel

Has blessed me with her hand

She reached out to me

And helped me to stand


I took it


A blessing in disguise

This woman is to me

She lent me her heart

So true love I could see



I took it


She kept me sane

When my nights were cold

She offered me a chance

To be a friend of her soul


I took it


I want to give her back

Something that she has given to me

I want her to know

My friendship to her is free

I want her to see

That she is my true friend

And I want to extend my hand

So that her pain can finally end

I know she deserves

To be loved once again

I want to give her that love

So her heart I can mend

I know she is in bad spirits

And needs a friend by her side

    Hi Countrybabe,

    I wanted to share with you what has transpired from one of your contests. I was inspired to write a poem from one of your contests and have turned it into a children's book. What's funny is the contest was about cowboys and you (very nicely) kicked the poem out because it was about a dragon and not cowboys, but no matter your contest inspired me to write it, so YAY!
