The challenge is to select a month
and write a light, creative poem
in which the month appears in your poetic images.
Your poem however should not be used as a stage to describe a month.
The month and it's visuals should be only a backdrop to the actual poem.

This contest is for our favorites only or those who have us favorited currently.
There will be 24 spaces 2 for each month.
RESERVATIONS:
Please choose a month and indicate your choice as the title of your poem.
You are encouraged to change the name of the poem
once the poem is completed.
We will keep a running list of reservations as we have the opportunity to. Please check our list and the list of reservations to see if your chosen month is still available.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on February 14
- Rewards: Gold: 4000, Silver: 1500, Bronze: 500
- Final notes: Hi,
Thanks so much for the patience. As many of you know I have been MIA.. I had a chance to really read the entries today and go through them one by one. I am so impressed and grateful to Heidi for ALL her hard work and dedication to this contest and to her fellow poets- she is amazing.
Rules are made to be broken and we found the poetry we liked best was not always the lightest poetry. So we went with the poetry we liked best.

Oh, man, I wanted November

Or September.
Or April.
Or May.
I have bad luck, don't I?
-
-
there is an april there again
-
-
a year
in the life of forever
is always
ever bloomed
alike through may, november
a night,
an august moon
from summer's quick abandon
throughout the fall to june,
the winter, slowly dying
star bound around the sun
give me time, forever
a life is only some,
a year, the great pretend.

-
have you considered entering a contest?

January
A different kind of cold
It's the way it wraps
around your legs;
a child that begs you to stay.
How it kisses
your forehead,
nibbles your ears,
& the way it
reaches beneath
your scarf
to nuzzle your neck
whispers softly
"I'm here, baby,"
This is how winter
says hello on a snowy
morning and reminds
you that cold is not
always a bad thing.
(oldie) -
-
an oldie but a goodie...

but I still hate being cold.
lol. -
-
lol I forgot I had even left this here.
you for finding it
