(until the 500 point donation
from a wonderful gal and my match)
Update* seems i had more points lying around
this is not a Michael Phelps contest
it is a Scott contest
go for the bronze people
may have the first contest with a fight for the bronze
no crap allowed for gold or silver
the gold was a gift from a good friend coughscottcough
the silver was my matching his gift
now give me something
*no rhyme
*poetry on the left
*if you don't know Scott
you probably won't win
*let's not fool ourselves either
writing like another is usually crappy
just use his devices and polish
wit is always a plus
*write like yourself
while holding a Scott mask
peace Muddy
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 4, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 2000, Bronze: 6001
- Final notes: I have read through these wonderful poems and I tip my hat to all of you. This was a hard task to fulfill, Scott has left some large prints to fill over the years. I know there were many that didn't enter and hopefully they found Scott as we have. A poet that writes from experience, from his heart at times (when the bottle's almost gone) but moreso as a man with so much to say. We all have learned much from this friend and I'm glad I asked him for 1000 points that boring night...LOL
on to the winners
that would be all of you for knowing Scott
gold goes to Cherokee...she nailed me with her entry
silver goes to Night Hope...poetry that so reminded me of Scott's softer side
and the bronze goes to Saffron
one helluva read
I wish that each of you would read these entries, all twelve of them were excellent
and we had a Scott imposter slip in under the door with Filthy Names...he must have been holding that Scott mask when he wrote this
Thank you friends
peace Muddy

Scott who?
-
-
There's only one Scott
Mary
The very witty one
that does that Emily thing
and his lil' glass...lol -
-
ah.
-
-
You took the words right out of my mouth Mary! LOL
Ah... is Scott that guy that flies around the heavenlies all day and calls it work? Is it that Scott?
-
-
Geeee...
& I thought ya meant Dickinson & Fitzgerald.
What a fabulous idea, Richard. I'm sure Scottman Crothers will be beside himself with quasi~detached glee. He was one of the first Scribes I encountered within these halls of infamy & ego. I'll be back to read the entries, for sure. It's gonna be great. Kudos to ya for the contest idea, my Friend. You rock, Richard.
-
-
ZeeeBee DoEeeeeeeee
yeah you betta bees back
somehow I have to give the credit for the contest to Bob
some call him smilin' Bob...lmao -
-
Too late, Scribe. I'd already made my lil' contribution while youse was typin' away.
I wouldn't dare...but if, by some miracle, a stroke
of inspiration & a whole lotta intestinal fortitude, I find my way into posting somethin', it'll only be 'cause I love all y'all.

-
-
Wonderful contest idea--I can't wait to read the entries.

I got a feeling this Saffron gal may know Scott
-
-
yeah, I probably know him better than most, but that still doesn't mean I can write like him...
I still think this is fantastic, and about time, actually--Wanda is right, you do rock!
-
-
-
Yes, yes! A true Scott contest should definitely reward third place like this. I have another 4000 I could kick in for an honorable mention.
-
-
Sounds like it's all good
in the middle of the road...lol
-
-
oh well, don't know scott, sigh. I really think my mediocrity could have paid off here...
-
-
Here's a link to Scott

-
-

that's the spirit..lol

where's those bronze whores when ya need em'
do you remember the original bronze whore?
lmao -
-
That would be me! Any trophy looks good on my pages!
-
-
-
i wish i could write like scott...but i just dont have his talent...
or a emily to write about
never mind the points or the cup...i just would like to write a poem worthy
mal
-
Damn, man...you sure know how to toss out a challenge to the masses!
I doubt I could do such an excellent poet like scott justice. But I love the man to bits and just try to pretend that I can write something worthy.
By the by, you are to commended on being such a marvelous friend. This contest touches me very much.
And you stinker! Never wanted a bronze so much in my life!
-
Alas, I write like scott not, wish I could get what he's got. Anyway, I like this contest, and scott, a lot.
-
Sir Walter Scott?
-
-
could be
sure he's been called worse
-
-
Judging by the quality of these entries so far, I must be a helluva writer. I don't envy you, Muddy - there isn't a third place entry in the bunch.
-
-
I may clean my stash of points out on this one...each entry is wickedly good...and with that hint of you
damn witty bunch here
and yeah...the helluva thingy
it's true
funny how this thing took off and has snow-balled..
I love it
-
"I must be a helluva writer."
Yeahhh, you must be. You kinda don't have a choice.
-
-
Confused, but that is ok.
-
Scott...oh I know him...No, I don't...maybe I do?????
-
-
You should get to know him...I promise you won't be sorry
-
-
I assume this is meant for us to write like scott adelmann, I don't think it is posible for me to be able to "adequately emulate" anyone elses style without coming off as pretentious or clumsy. I think if I do enter I'll just do it my own way.
-
Congrats to all the winners!
I'm so happy to have been able to participate and that's the award I was aiming for...to write for a dear friend like Scott.
And
to you too, oh wonderful father of my love-children...for hosting this delightful contest.
-
Oh no you didn't... that is sooooo freakin' awesome!
I should go for the bronze more often.
-
-
I didn't mean to make seductive lips. Where is that little kissy face guy when I need him?
-
-
Right here.
Type : then * without the spaces, Sweetie. I know; I don't much care for the new emoticons, either. 'xcept this one.
Congrats, my Friend.
-
-
the lips are fine

congrats girl
you deserved it
-
-
Ok, now I'm freakin' stoked.
What a wonderful contest for/from such a wonderful Friend...Thank you for the silver, Richard...Congratulations to Cherokee on the gold & kudos to Saffron for getting the bronze. Brava & Bravo, all around. Scott rocks, alright...ahhh, but Muddy keeps rollin' all night long.

WOW--I am totally surprised--totally. I have never been so happy to see a bronze trophy beside my name in my life! This really brings things full circle, more than you know. Thank you so very much--congratulations to Cherokee and to Wanda, and to everybody who took part in this--Scott has some really wonderful friends here, that's for sure.
