Ok this is a very diverse list with many different styles, but all wonderfully talented. What I want you to do is to each write in your own style to the following prompt:
If You Forget Me by Pablo Neruda
I want you to know
one thing.
You know how this is:
if I look
at the crystal moon, at the red branch
of the slow autumn at my window,
if I touch
near the fire
the impalpable ash
or the wrinkled body of the log,
everything carries me to you,
as if everything that exists,
aromas, light, metals,
were little boats
that sail
toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
Well, now,
if little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little.
If suddenly
you forget me
do not look for me,
for I shall already have forgotten you.
If you think it long and mad,
the wind of banners
that passes through my life,

to leave me at the shore
of the heart where I have roots,
remember
that on that day,
at that hour,
I shall lift my arms
and my roots will set off

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 18, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 1000, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 17 people
- Final notes: Well everyone I am sorry to have made you wait so long for judging, but damn this was impossible to judge. Never before have I had a contest where every single piece was just so beautiful. Rich and vibrant, emotional and compelling. Each writer brought their own touch of gold to their piece and it made the judging so very difficult. I had to ask some wonderful writers to help me out, the wonderful poet2angels and Roaddog Wolf, thank you two so much for helping me narrow it down, I know what a difficult task it was indeed.
Narrow it down I did, but again these works are all deserving of a gold and so I just had to give you all at least an HM, because to have no trophy on them at all is just not right. They are simply deserving of honor.
As for the winners I chose, well as usual I chose by emotion, the top three just crawled inside me, I felt each and every word.
I thank you all for taking the time to write these amazing pieces, my only hope will be that they each some day will have a gold trophy shining on their page. Hugs, Bunny

to write with such a talented group of writers, I am honored.
I truly put a lot of effort into composing something worthy to enter in this contest, and quite frankly, never spent so much time trying to corral my muse. After reading what I had gotten down to a couple hours before the close of contest, I didn't feel I had written a worthy entry. Just would like you to know I did not by choice neglect your kind invitation

Wow! I am floored. I've read most of these pieces and like you say, gold is everywhere. Somehow I had missed the note that this contest had been judged, but a friend told me, so here I am to say honestly, that I am humbled to have placed at or even near the top among such fine poets and their words. Unexpected, but completely appreciated.
