November New Member Contest

Welcome New Members of AllPoetry…..

This contest is strictly open only for the Members who have joined in the month of November 2007. If you have joined on October 31st and have not entered the October’s contest, then you may enter this one.

The theme for the November AllPoetry New Members Contest is CHOICES

Throughout life, we are presented with choices - from the most mundane to the most challenging.  This contest is going to be about choices you have made in life.

In your entry, you can either write it in a serious manner, or you can add a taste of humor to it.  Or you can even do a mixture of the two.  Just keep it within the theme of choices.  Please READ the rules below, and be sure to adhere to all of them, but especially the first one.  Wink

RULES:

1. No erotica or adult only type poems.
This contest is for all ages - so those who are under the age of 18 years and those who prefer to not view adult poetry need to be able to read the entries also.

2. No foul language.

3. No sTiCkY cApS or chat lingo

4. One entry per person - If you collaborate, the other poet must be a new November 2007 member also.

5. Entries must be 20 - 30 lines or less.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Please make sure to check back from time to time after you submit your entry. There may be a notice of corrections or editing that may need to be done. It would be a shame if you are disqualified because you didn't do this.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Before submitting your poem, please ask yourself the following:

• Does this meet closely with the requirements of the contest?

• Did you go over the poem and check for any grammatical or typographical errors?

• If you were judging, would you be able to see how this would or would NOT win placement?

We wish the best of luck to all of you in the contest and hope you enjoy your time here on the site. Welcome to AllPoetry!

This contest seems to be a very challenging one. Choices in life are so important indeed. Good luck to the new members and the Greeters team in judging it. Very well done

    woo

we are in the middle of studying journeys for English

this could assit me in trying to write poem on this topic I guess

although, most of the songs and poems we've done have been physical journeys...

anyway, it still sounds like fun though!

too narrow for this new member

Skip the theme! As a new member, I want to post my best writing & establish a presense. The idea of writing a new piece to match what is, for me, narrow and un-inspiring theme (Choices), means I will pass, losing my new member status at the end of the month. Thus, no opportunity to present here.

The best part about this site is the fact that it is one that promotes individuality, which allows members to decide to be a part of our new member’s contests or not. No member is obligated to enter, and we appreciate that not all members wish to. We do hope the best for you on this site, and have high expectations of a definite outcome from such an obviously strong writer……….

    poetry style

Does it matter what poetry style this is written? Well, besides the stated erotica, adult-type situations, foul language, etc.

As long as you do not use a form that goes beyond the 30 line limit, you can pretty mush use any form you wish. Just make sure that you follow the rules and you'll be fine.

I don't mean to sound impatient, but I'm just wondering, how long will it take (roughly) for judgement to be complete?
