Hey there. This is my 13th contest if anyone wanted to know.
I'm going to start off with the winnings first.
1st place will receive 350 points
2nd place will receive 175 points
3rd place will receive 90 points
And there will be 3 honorable mentions
Now that is out of the way, let's get to the point of what this contest is about: PRE-WRITES.
Yep you heard right. PRE-WRITES ONLY!
What I expect from you:
You may ENTER up to 5 times.
Your PRE-WRITE MUST be less than a 40 written line count. Anything below 40 lines is acceptable. Anything over it, will be disqualified. ***This means that your poem could show you have 50 lines, but due to spacing between the lines, you only really have 40. I will count every line in your poem if it shows over 40 lines and determine if it is 40 written lines or due to spacing***
Your PRE-WRITE MUST NOT be a CONTEST WINNER. That includes HONORABLE MENTION Winner.
Your PRE-WRITE SHOULD be NO older than November 1st, 2006. Anything older than November 1st, 2006 will not be accepted and disqualified.
What you should expect from me:
I will read every poem twice.
I will comment on every poem before judging the contest.
****I've had to disqualify 10 people today because they did not the follow the rule of your poem being older than November 1st, 2006.*****
****I've had to disqualify 3 people today for having a poem that was over 40 written lines. YES I did count them. I will count all entries over 40 lines to make sure they really aren't over or are over.****

*Update 3/11/07* I started out with 259 poems to read. I have now only 243 poems left. That is 16 poems disqualified. I have read and commented on about 70 or so poems on this contest. I will not judge until I have read and commented on them all. SO I have about 175 or so poems to read. Just be patient with me thanks.
*Update 3/13/07* Ok.. We started with 259 poems.. And I have left so far in my contest 224 poems. Meaning, I've had to disqualify so far 35 poems. That is not bad considering how many entries I have, but it is still not good. I have read and commented on most of the poems. I have a little over a 100 poems left to read and comment. Just please keep being patient. Thanks.
*Update /14/07*.. I apologize for the wait you are having to go through. But I am slowly but surely getting this done. Again we started with 259 poems and am now down to only having 219 poems. That means I have had to disqualify 40 poems. I hate disqualifying poems. However, if you don't follow the rules that is how it goes. Anyhow, I have 64 more poems to read and comment on. I will finish this tomorrow. Thanks for understanding. Kassie

- Final notes: This contest was so hard. I was so surprised at all the entries. I couldn't believe how well most of them were written. If I had enough points all 25 that ended up on the finalist list would have gotten a trophy.
