Welcome to the January New Members Contest for AllPoetry!
This contest is open ONLY to NEW MEMBERS of AllPoetry that joined in the month of January in the year 2007. If you joined December 31st, 2006, you are still eligible to enter as long as you DID NOT enter into the December 2006 New Members contest.
Criteria of your entry:
January is the first month of the year. Typically, everyone is out there making New Year’s resolutions only to be broken shortly thereafter. This contest is not going to be about that. This contest is going to be about the firsts in your life.
Just some examples:
First kiss
First love
First car
First pet
You get the idea? Write a poem describing one of your firsts in your life. But only one of them please. You can use any form of poetry you like, but it must adhere to the rules below.
RULES:
1. No erotica or adult only type poems.
This contest is for all ages - so those who are under the age of 18 years and those who prefer to not view adult poetry need to be able to read the entries also.
2. No foul language.
3. No sTiCkY cApS or chat lingo
4. One entry per person - If you collaborate, the other poet must be a new January member also.
5. Entries must be 20 - 30 lines or less.

Please make sure to check back from time to time after you submit your entry. There may be a notice of corrections or editing that may need to be done. It would be a shame if you are disqualified because you didn't do this.

Before submitting your poem, please ask yourself the following:
• Does this meet closely with the requirements of the contest?
• Did you go over the poem and check for any grammatical or typographical errors?
• If you were judging, would you be able to see how this would or would NOT win placement?

it seems getting to the second page on any contest is a real problem could you guys look into it, makes it hard to see the rest of the entries!!!
